“Shakira Immortalizes Her Support for Education in Colombia with Unique Hand and Footprint Ceremony”

Shakira is concluding her El Dorado World Tour in Bogota, Colombia this Saturday. Interestingly, the singer was invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony of two new schools – one in Cartagena and another in her hometown, Barranquilla – a day before the concert.

Shakira’s Barefoot Foundation (Pies Descalzos), which is responsible for managing three schools for underprivileged children and the Barca Foundation, will finance the construction of both. During the event, the 41-year-old Colombian singer left her hand and footprints on a cement cornerstone to commemorate the occasion with pride.

Looking stunning in a blouse that flaunted her shoulders and had lovely lace panels along with a pair of comfortable blue jeans, the talented singer who sang Deja Vu was none other than Shakira. Her long, curly, blonde locks bounced with joy as she couldn’t help but burst into laughter while dipping her foot into the icy cement. She happily posed with school children who welcomed her warmly at the event, while hundreds more waved and displayed posters.

Shakira has been on tour since June 3, starting in Hamburg, Germany, and has performed in 54 concerts across 23 countries. However, her final show on Saturday night will have a unique twist. The singer will debut her new track and video for “Nada” before her performance at Parque Simon Bolivar. She gave her 54.2 million followers a sneak peek on Instagram and shared that the track will be available online immediately after her performance.
